Classic California Style

Santa Baby...

Forget the duplex and checks. What I'd really like for christmas is a classic Hermes Belt. It definitely walks a fine line between classic and designer-whore but I think it would look great with a pair of denim cutoffs and a silky white button up. I love a little bit of gold bling in the summer time.

Fashion Toast

I've been a fan of fashion toast for a long time- I'm thinking since high school which would put us at around 2007. Over the years her style has really evolved in a nice way, and I'm especially liking her new direction. In the last couple months it seems like shes cleaned up and refined her look a little more. She's been sticking to a more monochromatic palatte, and a cleaners silhouette. While I loved the crazy stuff she was wearing early this year, her current direction is really hitting my sweet spot.

ps. anyone else spot the stripes?

Upper East Side Princess

Fashion bloggers are probably the number one groupies of the French Vogue team. Its hard to deny that Geraldine Saglio or Melanie Huynh have rocked some pretty fabulous outfits. I may have almost fainted out of happiness at seeing Carine Roitfeld earlier this fall. But if we can stop salivating at the long legged rock stars at Vogue Paris, I think we'd see that American Vogue has its fair share of fashionable ladies as well.
Case in point- Meredith Melling Burke. She may have the perfectly done blond highlights of an UES princess, but she still likes to mix it up with some edgier pieces from Alexander Wang. And like any good disciple of Anna Wintour she's not afraid of her fur.

I loved reading her Five Days, Five Looks feature on Vogue's website. You can check it out here. Or if you're feeling lazy, just scroll on down...

Intermission pt 2.

With all the magazines that have closed, there's still one whose presence I especially miss...

Domino was really an amazing magazine and it's so sad that the powers that be weren't able to see that, and if they were, that they weren't able to figure out some scheme for keeping it alive. Still love this poster despite the overexposure following it's appearance on the Sep 2006 Domino cover.

Intermission

While my love for fashion probably comes in first, it would seem remiss to ignore my love for interior design. And since this is the apartment of Sophia Coppola, it all sort of comes together.

Really loving the serene feeling achieved through the heavy use of white, the pale blue sofa, classic black and white photos and bright pink accents. Can Sofia do no wrong?

stripes

This image is a little out of tune with the seasons, but just file it away for later inspiration, mkay?

I love her orange nail polish. Orange+ sailor strips = giggles
